This Is a combo of my husbands and mine favorite deserts, There was an awesome recipe on Pinterest I have been using and for some reason, it was deleted. I never wrote it down and I can’t remember what Blog the Pin came from.. EEEK I have made it many times and it’s my Hubby’s favorite And it’s Valentines day morning and here I am trying to re create it.
Hubby gave the thumbs up so I must have it, or at least close.
- 2 cups heavy cream (one Pint)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 egg yolks
Preheat oven to 275. Combine the cream, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks in a bowl.
Place ramekins into a deep pan so you can create a water bath. Pour cream mixture into 6 ramekins.
Fill pan with warm water to cover the ramekins about half way with water.
Bake for 60 minutes, until just set.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours but overnight is great, I will make it first thing in the morning to serve that night.
Just before you are ready to serve Make THIS!
- 3 large bananas, sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 tbsp rum
- 6 tsp white sugar( For topping)
In a skillet, melt together the butter and brown sugar. Add bananas and turn the heat up to high.
Add the rum. Once the liqueur has reduced, turn off the heat.
Arrange bananas over custard.
Sprinkle with a teaspoon of white sugar.
Using a kitchen torch, burn the top of the bananas so you get a good caramelized crust.
NOTES: If you have quests that don’t care for Bananas some fresh berries are lovely on top as well.
